Bachmann: Hurricane and earthquake are messages from God to cut spending

Michele Bachmann
Michele Bachmann delivered a surprising message from God on Sunday (Mary Chastain/Reuters)

Yes, you can call her crazy:
"I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending."

Actually, I think the fact that Michele Bachmann said those words was a message from God to keep her as far away from the White House as possible. The only question left is how many times do Republicans need to get reminders like this before they finally start listening?

7:23 AM PT: Now her campaign spokeswoman says Bachmann's words were "obviously a joke."
