New US strategy: 'Surgical' strikes to defeat al-Qaida

White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan predicted that strikes targeting al-Qaida would eventually�leave the network unable to "replenish their ranks with the skilled leaders that they need to sustain their operations."The U.S. will push ahead with more targeted drone strikes and special operations raids and fewer land battles in the war against al-Qaida, according to a new counterterrorism strategy.
